Memory leak?

Postby Artem Zanin » July 6th, 2015, 6:18 am

Hello.
I noticed that my game have huge memory leak.
After profiling I understood the problem is in GafMovieClip.

All of this values increasing every second.

Simple Example. I have animated logo with 20 frames. It`s playing in loop and nothig more. But values increasing.
Code:

Code: Select all
logo = new GAFMovieClip(logoTimeline);
container.addChild(logo);
logo.height = stageHeight * 0.675;
logo.scaleX = logo.scaleY;
logo.x = (stageWidth - logo.width) >> 1;
logo.play();

Using latest version of converter and gaf player(from github 06.07.2015). And also starling 1.7

Maybe I don`t understand something. Please help resolve this problem.

Hello,

Can you send us a simple demo project that we can use to recreate this issue? We tested our standard set of the animations and can't recreate this issue. Maybe the problem appear on specific animation (with masks, filters, or in some specific combination of the used objects). You can send it using Contact Us form here http://gafmedia.com/contact (use Request type: Report issue) or post link to the demo.

Also can you tell the name of the application that you are using for profiling (on your screenshot)?

We tested your animation using the code from your example. Here is the result of profiling memory using Scout:

As you see there is no memory leaks here. We still can not recreate it.

Can you try Scout instead of your profiler and tell the result? Or send us complete source code of your demo that we can use to recreate the issue?

Maybe your debugger somehow affects the profiling result?
