Strange animation desync issue.

Postby Sean McFarlane » November 8th, 2016, 11:17 am

I have this animation: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19963215/Fulcrum/Athena_Test2.swf,

But, when imported into Unity, the mouth disappears on some frames and slowly becomes more out of sync with the rest of the animation.

This effect can only be observed on the T_NEUTRAL sequence, after nested conversion of the file. Eventually the animation goes so out of sync that both eyes are blinking independently. I've tried various combinations of "Perfect timing" and "Ignore timescale" options, as well as various framerates.

The animation plays flawlessly in the standalone converter.

I suspect this is just a simple user error but I wasn't able to find a solution, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, could you give us some details:

1. unity version
2. gaf plugin version
3. gaf animation settings (baked\not baked\nesting\plain\etc)

Thanks.

1. unity version : 5.4.0f3
2. gaf plugin version: 5.1
3. gaf animation settings: Not Baked, Nested, Movie Clip

Some other info:
-The "athena_test2.asset" file GAF creates says GAF version 5.8, not 5.1.
-The animation is only 2 frames long, one for each sequence, but the nested parts have longer animations.

Hi,

Another question:
Did you try to use the recent not released version of GAF? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_qVfp ... ZtM28/view

Thanks.

After many hours of frustration I was able to track down the issue, and as I suspected, it was a user error and not your software.

I had turned a layer into a mask instead of a guide layer. This resulted in me having two masks when I should have had one. I'm not sure why it was glitching in Unity and not the standalone converter, but it doesn't matter now.

Sorry for wasting your time! GAF has been working very nicely for me otherwise, and I think I'll be buying soon :)

Hi,

Cool! Thank you for that info, I think it should be useful for GAF users =)
