.Mat File missing after conversion

A few weeks ago I successfully converted a .swf into gaf and into Unity, but now I can't replicate the process. I create an empty game object, attach a GAFMovieClip script, and assign the gaf asset in the asset field. But now when I hit "Create gaf movie clip" it gives an error saying it is missing resources. I am 95% sure this is because the original successful conversion has a .mat materials file associated with it while the new ones I am trying to convert do not. Where do I get this .mat file? Did I miss a step somewhere?
